Vendor of the Week – 2.06.26

JR and BA Carlton of Ulmarra were selected as the ‘vendor of the week’ at the Grafton prime cattle sale on Tuesday June 2, 2026.  Joe and Barb have been saleyard stalwarts for decades, consistently offering high-quality well-finished bullocks year after year. This week’s offering was no different, with the Carlton’s topping the bullock market at 430c/kg.  Overall, their offering of 10 bullocks averaged 423.9c/kg at an average of 690.5kg to gross an impressive $2,927.05/head.  The offering was sold by Farrell McCrohon Stock and Station Agents of Ulmarra.

 

Stock Comment: 16th June 2026

As the rain continues to fall numbers eased this week after a run of large sales. Buyer attendance was good with most processors operating. Heavy bulls remained firm. Heavy bullocks and export heifers also stayed firm. Heavy cows seen some decline 10 to 15 cents however medium and light weight cows sold firm to dearer 5 to 10 cents. Feeder cattle were in short supply and sold firm to dearer in places. Weaners remained strong with good quality pens selling to a dearer market for both heifers and steers. Secondary weaners experienced little to no change in price.

NSW DPI Grafton, Brahman Bull sold to 394c/kg weighed 965kg to return $3804.00/hd.

Orara Glen Pty Ltd, Santa Steers sold to 440c/kg weighed 498kg to return $2192.00/hd.

Wave Hill Pastoral Co, Angus X Cows sold to 382c/kg weighed 535kg to return $2043.00/hd.

CQ Pastoral Co Pty Ltd, Brahman X Cows sold to 387c/kg weighed 570kg to return $2207.00/hd.

CQ Pastoral Co Pty Ltd, Angus Heifers sold to 480c/kg weighed 198kg to return $952.00/hd.
