Stock Comment

Numbers were scarce for our first fat sale of the year however; buyers were still in attendance and good competition was seen on good quality pens. Bulls sold firm with only one processor operating. Cows sold well in the top end with only a small amount yarded. Store steers and heifers back to feed sold firm with some good competition. Weaners were in short supply with heifers selling slightly easier, however steers were strong and sold firm on the current market.

Vendor of the Week – Tuesday 21/01/25

M & F Rippon of Coramba were selected as the ‘vendor of the week’ at the Grafton prime cattle sale on Tuesday January 21st, 2025.  The vendor was selected for their offering of 3 Hereford-Cross bullocks sold from their picturesque property in the beautiful Orara Valley.  The offering topped at 354.2c/kg for the 4-tooth bullocks pictured, which averaged 697.5kg and grossed $2,470.55/head.  The offering was sold by Farrell McCrohon Stock and Station Agents of Ulmarra.

BMH Brangus Brangus cows sold to 258c/kg weighed 455kg to return $1174/hd
