Vendor of the Week – 10.03.26

D & J Forbes of South Grafton were selected as the ‘vendor of the week’ at the Grafton prime cattle sale on Tuesday 10th March 2026.  The vendor was selected for their offering of 10 supplementary fed Angus cows and an Angus-cross bull whose working days are now behind him.  The pen of empty cows in prime condition sold to processors for 379.2c/kg at an average weight of 551.5kg to gross the vendor $2,091.29/head.  The offering was sold by Farrell McCrohon Stock and Station Agents of Ulmarra.

 

Stock Comment: 24th March 2026

The large yarding’s continue to come in with just under 1000 head yarded. A very good run of cows was offered as well as some handy lines of young cattle. Heavy bulls remained firm. Not many heavy bullocks or export heifers were yarded, however they sold firm to slightly easier. Heavy cows sold easier 10 to 15 cents while medium and light weight saw corrections of 20 to 30 cents. Feeder cattle were scarce however remained firm. Good quality weaners sold firm on previous fat sale prices, light weights and secondary cattle saw some large deductions.

A.G, M.E & C Dougherty, Angus X Cows sold to 353c/kg weighed 608kg to return $2148.00/hd.

S.M Fisher, Charolais X Steers sold to 412c/kg weighed 199kg to return $822.00/hd.

H.D & R.A Green Trust, Brahman Steers sold to 424c/kg weighed 677kg to return $2873.00/hd.

Fiona Hardie, Brahman Bull sold to 384c/kg weighed 740kg to return $2843.00/hd.

Heifer Station, F1 Steers sold to 430c/kg weighed 472kg to return $2030.00/hd.

C.J Moss, Angus X Bullocks sold to 390c/kg weighed 842kg to return $3283.00/hd.
