The FARRELL MCCROHON ANNUAL FEATURE WEANER SALE was held at the Grafton saleyards on Thursday May 15, 2025. The sale saw 1,850 Clarence Valley cattle go under the hammer as persistent wet weather has an increasing negative effect on agricultural enterprises. Despite the challenges this poses, vendors can be proud of the high-quality lines of weaners offered for sale. Prizes were awarded to vendors for pens of calves judged as best in their respective categories.

Tracey Conroy’s pen of 8 Charolais-cross steers was chosen as the ‘overall champion pen’. This pen of high-quality steers sired by a Minnie Vale Charolais bull, sold to a Mid North Coast buyer who is certain to have some impressive bullocks in two years’ time. These steers averaged 325kg and sold for 388.2c/kg to gross $1,261.65/head. The sale was conducted by Farrell McCrohon Stock and Station Agents of Ulmarra
